Male polyethylene fittings are utilized in order to connect polyethylene pipes to male fittings and threaded fittings such as sockets, valves, etc. One end of the male coupling is in the form of a connector and the other end is in the form of a thread.
Significant points of installing a polyethylene male coupling
Completely clean the end of the wanted polyethylene pipes before installing any screw coupling/fitting, and then install the coupling parts on the pipe in order. Make sure that all the parts fit accurately before tightening the nut and use a wrench to close the fitting. It is also possible to use standard Teflon tape to ensure the fitting and coupling are sealed.
You should pay attention that it is better to connect two products to each other, that both of them to be from the same family. For example, if you plan to connect piping to a polyethylene male coupling, it is better to be made of plastic than metal. Accordingly, the corrosion of the coupling and its terminating is less.
